What We're Loving: Perfect Places

Perfect places. 

 Well, that's where we are right now, figuratively and literally.  One of us is a vintage girl that loved it long before it was all the rage. 

 

So appropriate that she's in Seattle, a hotbed for all things classically antique. 

The other, who has loved anything and everything French since learning her first "bonjour," is in Paris.  Need we say more?  But more important are the reasons we're in those cities:  our girls.  We are blessed to have two of the most amazing daughters you could ever ask for:  strong, independent, brilliant, and oh, so talented.  They are, in so many ways, our partners in creativity.  Their spot-on critiques are always welcome and they have introduced us to some of our best sources of inspiration.

So excuse us while we get a little recharge both physically and creatively.  We'll be back at our craft with new ideas and enthusiasm soon!

Wedding Wednesday

Our most recent wedding, finally packaged and ready to be delivered.  We loved seeing this one come together.  The event will be a black tie affair, and we love the way it turned out so elegant with just a pop of color.  

 

 The reply card, envelope, and directions are held in place by removable stickies on the left flap under the amethyst belly band. 

We also got really lucky on this one because the LOVE stamp this wedding season is purple!  It matched perfectly on the reply envelope.  We just LOVE (hehehe) it when things come together so perfectly!

What We're Loving: Monograms!

These little *babies* are fun, fun, fun!  There are so many ways you can arrange them, and with the millions of different combinations of fonts, shapes, and graphics, the possibilities are endless!  We have gotten to the point where we have to limit the time we spend creating them because it could end up taking our whole day, and we don't seem to tire of it! 

We even worked up one of our own little *gems* for our gratitude giving.  Don't you just love it?!

Top 2 Tuesday

olor of the year. Did any of you know there was even such a thing? Neither did we, until Rachelle unwittingly stumbled upon it. Now we are in love with Honeysuckle, the 2011 Pantone Color of the Year.  We, of course, have no choice but to name it as one of our Top 2 best colors on this Top 2 Tuesday!


As the Pantone web site describes it, Honeysuckle *emboldens* us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life.

 

Wedding Finery!

A flattering hue for wedding attendant apparel and accessories, Honeysuckle is now one of the nearly 200 {Pantone Wedding Colors} available from *Dessy*, a leading manufacturer of bridesmaid, social-occasion and flower-girl dresses.

Our 2nd {Top Color} this Tuesday:   

Iron.  Or Tungsten.  Or really any shade of gray.  It is the new neutral that is the perfect complement to the whole spectrum of colors from Honeysuckle to Hazel!

Inspiration Monday!

Talk about inspiration.  Wait till you see this *little piece of heaven* that our friend Kristen brought in as her color swatch for this weekend's consult!  First we must set the stage with our own swatches {which usually are lovely and pleasing to the eye, especially when the color combo is as elegant and classic as the colors Kristen selected}.  So we pulled out a few samples of garnet, ivory, and charcoal from which she could choose.

 

We chatted about the correct color of charcoal and ivory, ate a few cookies, and then we asked about the garnet.  After waxing eloquent about how a true garnet color has an amber undertone, and that I know that because it's my birthstone {Tammi}, Kristen brought out HER swatch, the highlight of our day...
*angels sing, the heavens open*... ta-da!!!

IS THAT THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COLOR SWATCH YOU'VE EVER SEEN?!?!?!  It's just a crying shame that these little *princesses* are going to be hidden underneath layers of fabric.  We wish we were better photographers.  This photo doesn't do it justice.  You should see the heel.  Actually, here it is off the web.

Maybe 6 inches high?  Absolutely gor-geous!  I'll tell you what.  We were INSPIRED!  If that doesn't do it for you, nothing will.

Thankful Thursday

 Thankful Thursday.  Today, just today, can we digress from paper talk and give a little *shout out* to our one-in-a-million husbands {two-in-a-million?}

Although you may say it has nothing to do with our work, we say it has everything to do with our business.   These are the guys who have been with us through thick and thin, our biggest cheerleaders {without the skirts!} and our honest critics.










We will spare you the sappy sweetness, but maybe there's still enough Valentine's Day sentimentality left out there to grant us this little web love indulgence!
